A recent report from market research company LightCounting sees growth in sales of 40Gig and 100Gig transceiver products.

“100G optical transmission technology based on digital signal processing will enable future intelligent and flexible optical networks”.

While 10Gig will continue as the largest market, the new market for 40GigE and 100GigE client-side optical transceiver modules will grow to $380 million in sales revenue by 2015 according to LighCounting predictions.

While development of 100G DWDM line-side technology and standards for 100G on the line-side (DWDM) and client-side (Ethernet) continues, the market opportunities will increase in the datacentre and more particularly 100G in carrier networks.

Hardware.com with its sister company ProLabs offers networking components including optical and copper transceivers, media converters and cables. ProLabs is part of a consortium of transceiver manufacturers and offers 100% compatibility, full warranties as well as up to 90% off list price.
